Executive Letter
As we shift from summer to fall, we’re doubling down on the core principles behind our mutual success. Our Funding Team, in particular, is adopting a “back-to-basics” strategy, concentrating on the crucial fundamentals. We invite you to become familiar with this team and anticipate future tools and tips designed to streamline the funding process for both you and your customers.
Alongside our ongoing efforts to innovate and improve, we invite you to review the latest update on Project FOCUS, and the development of our new backend origination and servicing system. In this month’s update, we are pleased to announce the Hino Truck Dealers who will serve as a virtual sounding board and testers for the upcoming configuration. We cannot thank these volunteers enough for their valuable input and feedback.
You can continue to expect regular project updates about Project FOCUS and, in the next issue we’ll share feedback from the dealer volunteers’ first look at the new Dealer Portal. As the calendar year ends, we’ll share a projected timeline for the eventual migration and cutover. We look forward to making a fresh start with you in 2025. Your success is our priority, and we are dedicated to supporting you in innovative ways.
In the coming weeks and months, we look forward to meeting with many of you during dealer visits and events such as the Hino Truck DAC meeting and our Partners in Excellence trip in October. To remind you, our 2025 Partners in Excellence program is already in progress, and we are committed to helping our dealer partners qualify for next year’s award and accompanying trip.
We appreciate your choosing TICF – thank you for your continued business and partnership.

Training as a Top Priority
TICF Announces Planned Launch of New Training Modules for Dealer Personnel
In today’s fast-paced and ever-evolving business landscape, staying ahead requires not just dedication but also continuous learning and development. Recognizing this, TICF is taking significant strides to ensure that dealer personnel are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of the financial landscape within the truck industry. This October marks a significant step forward in this commitment with the launch of three new training modules, designed to enhance understanding and proficiency in key areas of financing.
What to look forward to:

1. Intro to TICF
This module serves as the foundation for the series, providing an in-depth look into the key functions of TICF. Participants will gain valuable insights into how TICF operates within the truck industry ecosystem and how its services and support can be leveraged to drive dealership success.

2. Unlocking the 5 Cs of Credit
Credit plays a pivotal role in the financing process, and understanding the 5 Cs (Character, Capacity, Capital, Collateral, and Conditions) is crucial for anyone involved in dealership financing. This module is designed to demystify these concepts, providing participants with the knowledge needed to assess creditworthiness effectively and make informed financing decisions.

3. Leases and Loans
A deep dive into the world of leases and loans, this module explores the nuances and complexities of these TICF financing options. Participants will learn about the different types of leases and loans, their benefits and drawbacks, and best practices for structuring deals that meet the needs of both the dealership and the customer.
These training modules will be housed on the Hino Learning Center, ensuring easy and on-demand access for all dealer personnel. This flexibility allows for learning at one’s own pace, accommodating busy schedules while still offering opportunities for professional growth and development.
The launch of these modules underscores TICF’s commitment to supporting its dealer partners through education and training. By investing in the development of dealer personnel, TICF is not just prioritizing training; it is investing in the future success of its partners and the industry at large.
As we look forward to the roll-out of these new training modules in October, TICF’s dedication to excellence and continuous improvement remains stronger than ever. Dealer personnel are encouraged to take full advantage of these resources to enhance their skills, knowledge, and ultimately, their success in the competitive landscape of the truck industry.
Stay tuned for these exciting educational opportunities, and remember, your growth and success are at the heart of everything we do. Together, let’s drive towards a future of unparalleled achievement.

Department Deep Dive
Meet the Funding Team
Working on the TICF Funding Team can feel like being an octopus, with multiple tentacles reaching out to various departments, as they expertly coordinate resources to keep projects thriving. “Everything we touch affects every department, from legal to taxes,” explains Jorge Hernandez, TICF’s Funding and Operations Support Supervisor. “If we’re not following procedures, everything can go awry.”
Comprised of 20 associates with more than 100 combined years of experience, the department supports National Accounts, Forklifts, and the Hino Truck portfolio, acting as the direct liaison between TICF and dealerships in contracts, ensuring all documents are reviewed and accurate prior to funding any leases and loans.
“We make sure everything is in line with policies and procedures and that each contract meets all the stipulations—from the legal name to the down payment that’s required,” says Jeffrey Poblete, Funding Manager at TICF.
Of course, that includes aligning closely with the sales team, with funding and operational support specialists assigned to support specific dealers. In the spirit of continuous improvement, they gather feedback from dealers through the RSMs on systems like TC3 and funding policies and procedures.

The Funding Team aims to have all associates cross trained so everyone is equipped to service both the Truck and Material Handling portfolios. It’s a new initiative aimed at providing that next level of service, with every associate able to jump in and assist any client, says Poblete. “When they submit a deal to us, we want to be ready to book it immediately so they have their funds and can carry on with their business.”
One of the Funding Team’s biggest goals is ensuring dealers have adequate training in submitting clean deals, which is mutually beneficial. With the proper funding paperwork in hand, the department can get the deal submitted and funded as quickly and smoothly as possible.
“We work hand in hand with the dealers so they realize we are here to partner with them and support them,” Hernandez says. “We’re always looking for feedback on how TICF can be easier to work with to further our goal to be the best financial partner with the most efficient service.”
To that end, they make a point of visiting multiple dealerships throughout the year. “We want to pamper the dealer and convey how valued they are to the funding team and TICF,” Poblete says. “Without them, we are not here. We know that dealerships have a choice, and we always want them to be confident in why they have chosen us.”
And adds Hernandez, that appreciation goes for all the teams in TICF. “We’re here to partner with all the departments and work closely with these teams to streamline operations and better enhance the services they provide. We all need each other and no department would be here without the others.”
