Letter from the CEO
As we kick off a new fiscal year at TICF, we are working hard on new initiatives, programs, and ways to better support the Hino dealer network.
I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the time I spent with members of the Dealer Advisory Council (DAC) at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis back in March. It was truly a pleasure connecting with many of you, hearing your insights, and discussing the opportunities ahead for Hino.
One key takeaway from our conversations was the excitement and optimism surrounding Michael Schultze’s full dedication to supporting the Hino side of the business. Many of you shared how much you appreciate his commitment to strengthening the relationship between TICF, Hino Corporate, and our dealer network. I share your enthusiasm and confidence that his leadership will continue to drive success for all of us.
As we move forward, our focus remains on providing the best support, products, and solutions to help your businesses thrive. Your feedback is invaluable, and I encourage you to continue sharing your thoughts and ideas with us. Together, we will build a stronger future for Hino and our customers.
Thank you for your dedication and partnership. I look forward to our continued collaboration and to seeing many of you again soon.

Toyota National Purchase Program: Now Available to Hino Dealers
At the most recent Hino Dealer Advisory Council (DAC) meeting, we heard your interest in a special program for purchasing Toyota forklifts at a discounted rate.
We’re excited to announce that Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) has now made their National Purchase Program (NPP) available to all Hino dealers—a benefit previously reserved only for Toyota car dealers. While the program is typically offered to customers with a national presence and large-volume purchases, TMH has now made this program available to all Hino dealers in the spirit of One Toyota.

Getting Started is Easy:
To take advantage of the NPP, simply contact your local Toyota Forklift dealer. If you’re not sure who that is, let us know and we’ll connect you with the right contact.
We’ve already submitted Hino dealer information to TMHNA, and they’re in the process of loading it into their system. If you have an urgent forklift need, let us know—we can request that TMHNA prioritize your registration.
At TICF, we are always looking for new ways we can better support you, our valued Hino dealers. This latest program is a direct result of your valuable feedback and strengthens the partnership between Hino, TMH, and TICF.
We’re confident this program will bring value to your business, and we’re here to help you make the most of it. If you have any questions or need assistance getting started, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
The Value of a Captive
TICF Potential Customer Fraud: Best Practices
At TICF, we are committed to being the best financial services partner for you, our valued dealers, and our mutual customers.
We’re here to support dealers by providing guidance on recognizing potential customer fraud, including spotting red flags like unusual purchasing behavior or a lack of in-person interaction.
Customers who prefer to place and complete an order solely through the phone or via e-mail may indicate fraud and identity theft. Verifying customer information thoroughly and being cautious with unusual purchasing behavior can help prevent fraudulent activity and protect your business.
For example, TICF and a Hino dealership encountered a situation in which a customer completed the entire sale over the phone, never visiting the dealership in person. Unfortunately, this resulted in a confirmed case of identity theft. If a customer — especially a new one — wants to order equipment without any in-person engagement, this is likely a red flag and warrants further investigation.
We greatly appreciate and welcome opportunities to improve and ensure processes are in place to minimize potential customer fraud. We remain committed to keeping your business moving and continuously improving to be the best financial partner for you and our mutual customers.
If you have any questions regarding potential customer fraud, please contact your TICF Regional Sales Manager.
Thank you for your valuable feedback, support, and business.
Titling Policy Updates & Tips for Sucess
Working Together for an Efficient Title Experience
In the spirit of Toyota’s Kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement, and in our ongoing effort to better serve you and our mutual customers, Toyota Industries Commercial Finance (TICF) is pleased to share some important updates, along with best practices related to title processing.
Title Policy Update
Beginning June 1, 2025, TICF will be implementing a new policy on units with missing titles or titles that do not have a perfected lien. If a valid and enforceable perfected security interest is not obtained within 90 days, a Full Dealer Guaranty will be placed on the account and remain until TICF receives proof of a perfected title.
To ensure transparency and give you and your team time to resolve title issues, TICF will send scheduled title updates as follows, starting in June:
- 30 Days – Letter to the Title Clerk (First notice of potential contract repurchase)
- 60 Days – Letter to the General Manager (Second notice)
- 90 Days – Letter to the Dealer Principal (Official Notice of Full Guaranty)
Once proof of a perfected security interest is received, any associated full guarantees will be removed from the account.
Why This Change?
This update brings TICF in line with industry standards and further ensures that our security interests are protected. For our dealer partners, this change provides:
- Clear, consistent communication.
- Ample notice and opportunity to resolve title issues.
- Support from our Titles team to help address any delays or concerns.
- The ability to avoid unexpected financial exposure, especially in cases of early charge-offs or defaults.
Title Reminders & Best Practices
To help avoid costly delays and complications, we strongly encourage you not to give title work directly to the customer to complete. We have seen a number of title issues arise from this approach, many of which ultimately result in financial or operational impacts to the Hino dealer.
If you’re looking for a more hands-off solution, there are two trusted third-party providers who can assist with title processing:
- Road Ready Registration Company
- Consolidated Auto Services (CASI)
These vendors are regularly featured in our monthly financial bulletins and offer services for a modest fee, which may vary depending on the state and scope of work.
Please note that TICF cannot complete title work on behalf of dealers, but we are always happy to assist with any questions or help troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Lienholder Name & Address Reminders
We also want to remind you that the only lienholder names we will accept are:
- TOYOTA INDUSTRIES COMMERCIAL FINANCE, INC.
- TOYOTA COMMERCIAL FINANCE
- TOYOTA ICF
- TOYOTA CF
TC3 Tips:
How To Insert The TICF Doc Fee
At Toyota Industries Commercial Finance (TICF), we are committed to enhancing the dealer and customer experience.
In response to recent updates to the APR in our Retail Installment Sales Contract (RISC) documentation, we received questions from Hino dealers regarding the proper entry of TICF documentation (“doc”) fees to ensure accurate APR calculations. To address this, we developed a desk guide with detailed steps and screenshots to assist you in entering TICF Doc Fees, verifying their accuracy, and ensuring correct APR calculations. You can download and save the guide via the link below.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your TICF RSM or the Retail Funding team directly. We are making great strides in improving our systems and processes to better serve your needs and our mutual customers.
Thank you for your partnership, business, and support.

CLOSING LETTER
Hino Dealers,
As we continue to navigate the evolving landscape of the transportation industry, I want to take a moment to express our commitment to supporting you in unique and specialized ways that go beyond the transaction.
At TICF, we understand that our success is deeply intertwined with yours. That’s why we are dedicated to providing you with the tools and resources necessary to thrive in today’s competitive market.
Here are a few new initiatives my team has been working on that I am excited to share with you:
We are refreshing dealership and customer collateral around our leasing products and
our dealer owned the leasing (DOLC) product. We are exploring how TICF’s Marketing Manager (Natalie Merkl)
may be able to identify Marketing opportunities within dealerships. Such areas as marketing materials and campaigns that resonate with customers, and provide customers with financing information along with highlighting the value of what your dealership offers to customers by being a one-stop shop, from purchasing a truck, to graphics/lettering, body shop, service, and more.

In the DFW area, we are partnering with Industrial Power and the local Toyota dealer, Shoppa’s, to explore ways to expand our common customer base. By focusing on customers who use both dealerships and finance with TICF, we aim to capture new business opportunities as part of the One Toyota advantage. This collaboration is designed to leverage the strengths of each partner, ensuring that you have access to the best resources and expertise available. We are planning to expand this initiative across additional geographic markets in the next six months as well.
Lastly, we announced that in partnership with Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA), the National Purchase Program for Toyota forklifts is now available to all Hino dealers. This program provides you with the opportunity to purchase material handling equipment at a significant discount.
These initiatives are just the beginning. We are continuously exploring new ways to add value to our partnerships and support your growth. Our goal is to build and foster a strong, collaborative relationship that empowers you to achieve your business objectives and exceed customers’ expectations.
Thank you for your continued trust and partnership. We look forward to working closely with you to drive success.
